New UK VAT rules Jan 1 2021

Saw this in the Discogs forums:

VAT: general enquiries

Obviously anyone selling via Discogs, eBay and the like, will have the VAT handled by that platform.

But the way this reads, it sounds like I would need to register and remit tax if I sold a record here (or some other private sales) to a member in the UK. That sounds quite onerous for small private sellers based outside the UK.

 

Eddie, Discogs is a huge fuster cluck right now with forced shipping policies and failed log-ins just to touch on a couple of things. It feels like the yacht's going down.
