Nicolas Cage.....why does a talented actor, who had a promising start end up acting in B movies.

I remember seeing this in the theater. It was when I first realized Cave is quite talented as an actor.

Funny how big his picture is here, because I don't remember him getting a big credit at the time.

I saw it twice. Liked it but it's not for everyone.

  3. I'll have to see Mandy twice. I was expecting a blood-drenched revenge fest, which happened eventually, but I didn't realize that it was preceded by an hour of David Lynch-like weirdness and cool visuals first. Next time I'll watch it in the right frame of mine. I'm sure I'll enjoy it even more when I won't spend the first hour wondering where the chainsaw is.
It really is an interesting combination of art film and gore fest.

I haven't seen it since it was in the theater. I really should see it again.

  10. I saw it in a theater in Manhattan when it came out. I remember that manic sped up ambulence scenes driving down the pre Uber streets of New York City.

Bet you looked both ways before crossing the street after the movie.

I agree with this take. Cage is not really an actor who disappears into a role to where you can't believe it is him; the classic Nicolas Cage persona is going to be there in some form, for better and for worse, and that can make it difficult for him to get cast in certain roles, but he has enough of a niche where he should never have a problem getting work.

He was very funny in that. Probably a big thrill for him too, since he is a big comic book guy.

Nicolas Cage's wife of 4 days agrees to divorce, asks for spousal support: reports | Fox News

The woman Nicolas Cage was married to for four days before filing for an annulment claims she’s entitled to spousal support and wants the “Face/Off” star to pay for her legal fees.

The 55-year-old actor married Erika Koike during a night of drinking in Las Vegas after dating for a year. He filed for an annulment just four days later, explaining in court documents that he was too drunk to adequately agree to the big decision.

I wish I could find the clip on youtube again, but during an interview, Chris Evans said that Nic Cage would be great as a villain in the MCU.

No idea really but he just became dull and seemed to overact.

He did a good job on the last movie I saw him in, Color Out of Space. It was a pretty crazy take on the HP Lovecraft short story. If you liked Mandy, you'll like Color Out of Space. A completely different movie but it's over the top like Mandy.
