There's no way this thing makes the late 2019 release date now... which is frankly ridiculous; EON used to knock out a Bond movie every year or every other year for decades and now they can't even make a release date four frikkin' years after the last one???

Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if it never gets made and they just end up rebooting with a new actor...

There's an interesting article elsewhere on that site:

Danny Boyle blames being an 'aficionado' on why he quit James Bond | Metro News

Teasing the cliffhanger ending for Bond 25, a source told The Mirror: ‘Daniel now has a huge role on the film along with Barbara, and she doesn’t want to kill his character off completely. ‘She thinks Daniel could be encouraged to come back for another film. And since Danny quit as director, Barbara has taken on a new motto: When in doubt, go back to the original Fleming material. So that is what they are doing now after the chaos.’

    Gee, ya think?

I still think after DC is done, they should film all the Fleming stories, in the order written (excepting CR), as faithfully as possible, including setting them in the year they were written. Setup two production crews so that one crew can shoot at Pinewood while the other shoots on location. Hire a new thirty-something actor for each film, and release a new one every year.

Huge mistake, letting Daniel Craig helm the movie. Cubby Broccoli sure would not have allowed it. Too bad there must be a contract signed already, otherwise EON could cast a young man and close the "Bond the whiner" era.

The last 3 "Mission: Impossible" films are soooooo much better than the Craig era Bonds (except for Casino Royale)

Who's going to replace Daniel Craig anyway, and should we be worried ?

I'm just seeing out the Bond series with the next one - which I'm even not that optimistic about, considering they're continuing that wretched ongoing story, a story which rightly should have ended with Quantum of Solace - but I like Henry Cavill (who was runner-up to Craig back in 2005!) as the next Bond... he's British, handsome, tough, around six-foot, looks like Fleming's character (more or less), and has definite charisma.

Like I said though, I'm not optimistic about Bond... creatively they're running on fumes at this point, and it's unlikely they'll do something unexpectedly creative to make it interesting anymore, but I hope I'm wrong...

Probably someone from “Trainspotting.” I’m getting a little tired of seeing those actors. There’s two or three of them I just can’t stand.

He would have been 22 in 05, a bit to young imo for Bond.

I'm just waiting for the next movie to come out. I get that they will keep making these so long as it makes money. But at some point I feel like they need a definitive end to the story. Maybe they should do a revamp with Henry Cavill and just do straight interpretations from the books.

They’ve already had one guy from Trainspotting as a Bond baddie. I think it was someone else. Guess Boyle was shocked he didn’t have full creative power. Now they’ve picked a jobsworthy ( TV) director, and for a lot cheaper. Real Bond fans always moan, but the public will flock to see the end result regardless.

With its spring shoot fast approaching, Eon and MGM have begun bringing back familiar faces for the next James Bond film as Lea Seydoux is set to reprise her “Spectre” role as psychologist Madeleine Swann, a source confirmed to Variety.
Daniel Craig is already on board to return, with Cary Joji Fukunaga writing and directing the pic.
Besides Seydoux, Eon is looking for two other actresses — one would play an MI6 agent who works with Bond and another a mystery women — as well as the Bond villain.
According to insiders, Rami Malek was being eyed for the villain role, but his schedule on the last season of “Mr. Robot,” which shoots from March through July, makes it unlikely that he will be able to take the gig, even if Eon offered him the part.variety.com

Why don't they remake "The Spy Who Loved Me" but this time use the story from the novel? I know it isn't a popular installment in the Fleming novels but I thought it would make a decent movie. But there would really be no room lots of gadgets and exotic locations.

Why are they not bringing back Christoph Waltz to play the part of Blofeld? Are they just going to leave us hanging after Spectre?
