Thank you Taxman. That helps. Our recent inclusion in the Axis of Evil has been unnerving to say the least.

The ultimate Canadian new wave album! Thank you Toronto for "Echo Beach", "Paint by Number Heart", "Saigon" and all the other great tracks on it.

One of the reasons I love the Guess Who is the frequent (often personal) references to Canada. I'm also a big fan of Bob Brydon's Reign Ghost/Christmas bands. As for Joni, love her too, but didn't the US annex her?

Paul Schaffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band!

And also, and how could I forget having just watched him on the Netflix special with Steve Martin, Martin Short! The man sounds just like Sinatra when he does his impression

Do the Sparrows/Steppenwolf count? They formed in Canada I believe.

as much as i have disagreed with some in the past, i have never said the following: "the man does not speak for me, nor do i feel he represents me".

D.O.A., their early records. Best band ever out of Canada, no contest for me. (Then came "Let's Wreck The Party" album and their steep descent began).

Incorrect Thoughts by the Subhumans is great too, but not as great as Something Better Change or Hardcore '81.

When I was a great deal younger, me and a friend, once every few years, used to go into Canada to watch the Canadians play at the The Forum. There was nothing like being there when Roger Doucet sang O Canada (it was like a religious experience).

Then don't read headlines; they tend to be sensational formulations for the sheeple...

But in the spirit of the thread and appreciation of Canadian music...The Guess Who and Rush top my list.
