Olivia Newton-John. Yay or Nay?

Olivia was one of the most popular female singers in the world throughout the 70s, and a chunk of the 80s too. She starred in one of the biggest musicals ever made as well making a few other movies. Her 'Physical' video album/TV special was immensely successful in 1981/2. Five U.S. #1 singles and 2 #1 albums and many other hits to her name. She's fallen off a bit in recent years (haven't we all!?), but still tours regularly and remains as endearingly sweet as ever.

How do you feel about her?

 

Ain't nothing wrong with Olivia.

 

She was my first celebrity crush when I was a kid in the seventies. As I recall, she was real easy on the eyes.

I own a few singles, no albums. Definitely one of the most beautiful women during her prime.

 

I can understand why you stopped doing these 'yay or nay' things. I had so much abuse over my Elton John one for not providing the 'right' options. Christ, there are some miseries on here!

 

Just OK. Haven't listened to much since Grease.

 

Yeah, I was attacked earlier on for including a 'Hate' option which I removed. I tried having the most 'un-contreversial' options for each poll. I think it worked out .

 

I think 'OK' may just win this poll. I don't think she's someone many people would hate, but she might not be their absolute favourite either..

I guess I just can't comprehend how someone could like her so much. There are a few good songs I don't mind and Grease has a bit of nostalgic attraction but that's about it. It's like really being into food but having McDonald's as your favorite restaurant.

She was certainly has talent as a singer, was cute as a bug in Grease, but her music is just too poppy for my taste. She gets "OK" from me, whoo, hoo, hoo.

 

Olivia's a nice vocalist, but her albums do nothing for me. However, I do think she has some nice singles, which is why I voted for the third option.

 

I do think she's great but I don't own any of her albums. I voted Yay anyways. What's not to love?

When I was a kid she was the first singer I had heard talk with an Australian accent and I was so confused as to why she didn't sing with that accent...

 

Went "don't care". Don't enjoy her music but don't have a negative view of her...

 

I have 15 of her albums. She actually made some pretty solid ones.

 

Certainly a good run of singles in the 70s and 80s.

 

Magic is really sexy.

 

I like a lot of her stuff , not all but quite a bit ...

It's fair to say that a lot more doors opened to her because of her looks.
