Can't comment on the DV45A (brand new?), but I do have the DV47A.

This component has gotten mixed reviews, but I have been very happy with mine. I was in the market for a new DVD player anyway, and also wanted to get my feet wet with DVD-A and SACD.

The video quality of the 47A is outstanding. DVD-A and SACD also sound quite good to me, but I haven't heard any other players so I don't know what I may be missing. I have read reviews that said the SACD quality is not up to snuff.

Final analysis: If you are a heavy SACD listener, you will likely do better with a standalone SACD player. If you are just looking for a reasonably priced universal player, the 45A will probably fit the bill.
