It passes the McCartney Melody Authentication Test.

Listen to it twice in a row. Walk away. Within 5 minute you will be humming/singing/recalling little snatches of it. It's the real deal. :)

Here are the original KISS ME NOW 1984 lyrics ( MPL copyright )

    I could see your shadow
    Underneath the moon
    Maybe a winter cloudburst
    Heading this way soon
    Heading this way soon

    Kiss Me Now
    Kiss Me Now
    Kiss Me Now
    Please

Hope shines brightest in the dark
    When nothing's ever seen
    Lighting undiscovered places
    No-ones ever been

    Kiss Me Now

    Instrumental Bridge

    Kiss Me Now
    Kiss Me Now
    Kiss Me Now
    Please

Hope shines brightest in the dark
    When nothing's ever seen
    Lighting undiscovered places
    No-ones ever been

    I could see your shadow
    Underneath the moon
    Maybe a winter cloudburst
    Heading this way soon
    Heading this way soon

    Kiss Me Now
    Mummy
    Please

The song was written at first for Mary , Paul's mother , but too personal , wasn't published

After Linda's death , Paul can't sing it without thinking to Linda too . Is it a good reason not to use a good song ?? Perhaps when it touches something so hard to cope with .....

An old song being cannibalized into two new songs is exactly the kind of thing that a Dylan "Bootleg Series" release would highlight. And conversely, I suspect, it's exactly the kind of thing where Paul will never release the original in a million years. Oh well :)

That's cool, but you didn't mention that "Hope For The Future" and "In The Blink Of An Eye" are both inspired by the unreleased Flowers in the Dirt outtake "Indigo Moon."

    INDIGO MOON lyrics
    ©1989 MPL

    From out of the darkness
    Our future will come
If we leave the past behind
    We'll fly beyond the sun

    Indigo Moon
    Indigo Moon
    Indigo Moon
    I'm sorry

    We will never give up
We will hold on to love
    With no reason to cry

    Indigo Moon

    Instrumental Bridge

    Indigo Moon
    Indigo Moon
    Indigo Moon
    I'm sorry

    We will never give up
We will hold on to love
    With no reason to cry

    From out of the darkness
    Our future will come
If we leave the past behind
    We'll fly beyond the sun

    Indigo Moon

    I'm sorry

Does that mean you need help, too? Or that you helped our beloved Ben, too?

    Use your words, Arnie! :tsk:

I noticed that you can sing the words "secret life of a party girl" over the melody in the middle 8. Hmmmmm.
