Paul McCartney/Wings-song by song thread

For the record, I would take Nod Your Head over everything on Ram put together, except Too Many People and Eat at Home.

 

Love all of Ram and it’s red headed sister album wild life …lol..and nod your head..well as 222. I love most of his weirder stuff.

 

Definitely a Lennon song ..lyrics and tune, more appropriate as a Lennon solo release, but with killer bass and despite all Macca forum and elsewhere drumming critics….contains adequate Macca drumming. Imagine the song without the drumming? However, the song I believe is classified as a Lennon McCartney song via song credits and released as a Beatles single. Also, Paul’s vocal harmony at the end made that ending memorable.

 

Lennon said it was one of the last songs paul had in him. However, I learned in the seventies that Lennon was an unreliable guide posts for great Beatles songs and of his own songs. I told you that’s my funeral song.

 

Yes, Rock Show versions of all Beatles songs are my go to favorite versions. So very glad I saw him on that tour sing those songs live, when he was in such fine voice. Such an incredible concert. So many top acts I’ve seen in fifty years, but my best concert was wings 76.

 

Just let the rest of us Macca fans fawn over Paul’s symphonic textured proto indie genius album Ram.

 

A killer version of this song and a killer contemporary video. It truly slays.
