"Self-centeredness arising from failure to distinguish the self from external objects".

Sounds about right when people can't allow others to enjoy what they don't enjoy!

But I admire the use of "methinks"!

That was good. Like most classic-rock songs, I don't ever need to hear the original again, but that version was worth listening to.

I have never tired of "WGFA" - especially the "Kids Are Alright" version! :)

I don’t know... I thought The Who stood for loftier ideals and concepts...rebellion... overcoming adversity...fighting for what is right...the individual against the masses. I believed in you, Pete. I listened to you, Roger. And now you appear on the lowest common denominator of television, the inane nocturnal squawkings of Jimmy Fallon. Is The Song really Over? Has The a Seeker really gotten what he’s after? Moonie, if you were still around I know you’d kick some sense into them; and whack Jimmy Fallon a good one in the groin just because. .

Methinks reading comprehension is not one of your strong suits...but I’m cool with that. You still have the right to express yourself. Carry on my good man, carry on!

Methinks I read goodly. Methinks you just don't want to be viewed as narcissistic.

Methinks I never actually called you narcissistic, but you assumed. Methinks that sounds kinda narcissistic!

Why should The Who, or anybody, stop - if they still want to continue? Do they really owe it to somebody else's idea of decorum? They are the ones in this equation who have accomplished something. They should get to decide when they're obsolete.

Not true. Without the fans, they are nothing. We, the fans, decide. So...who’s with me in this?!?

I thought it was very enjoyable.
Pete and Roger deserve to do whatever they want with their music. After all they are entertainers, too.

But enough about me. Pete looked bored and confused, and a little embarrassed. Was he thinking to himself “Oh god, what am I doing?” Looked that way to me.

To be honest, I only watched the first 30 seconds of it, and then I had to turn it off, I was so disappointed and disillusioned. Should I watch the rest of it? Did it redeem itself in the end?

I got a chuckle out of the video, even with Jimmy Fallon. (The guy is a fan, so his enthusiasm is okay with me) Pete seems a little unsure of exactly what is going on, but he nails the ending by trashing the uke.

Unless you're, like, 13, this statement is just unbearably embarrassing.

The Who are a pop group.

    They stand for pop music.

If that's where you're looking for moral and philosophical guidance, that's just...odd.

The only member of The Who that ever believed in those lofty ideals (thanks M. Baba) was Pete. The fact that he’s willing to jump off of his pretentious perch to do something as silly as this is GREAT.

Remember, we’re talking about a band who recorded a “Rock opera” about a deaf, dumb and blind self-declared “messiah” who played pinball. :wtf:

Besides, The Who could be very, very silly! :nyah:

The Who was a rock band. First rock opera. Loudest concert ever (for a while at least). Pete chases Abby Hoffman off the stage for being a wanker. Don’t confuse The Who with pop bands. Don’t confuse The Who with Abba. “Cause I know that the hypnotized never lie (do ya!)”

I just watched it and thought it was great. It obviously wasn't their idea, but they were good sports and had fun with it. And it did sound pretty darned good if you ask me.

Believing in lofty ideals does not pretentiousness make. Think about it.
