Bad analogy and faulty logic. You would have been correct if your example was Paul being joined by, say, Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson and calling that the Beatles.
Sorry, I didn’t make it clear. I mean it’s been that long since they didn’t include others. This 2022 lineup is simply another variety.
Nope, Wikipedia is wrong. Also Nick himself misremembered the song. We discussed it on some other thread(s). Anyway, sorry for going off topic here.
Just listen to both songs. One of them has Nick's typical drum style and the other has a difficult uneven beat pattern Nick couldn't do (same happened with the song 'Mother' on The Wall).
And "Two Suns In The Sunset". I just did a little investigating online, has it ever been 100% confirmed it was Smith on Remember a Day? a lot of back and forth from what I was seeing.
Well, Nick said so in his PF biography but it just can't be correct. I believe it was confused just because, coincidentally, it's two songs written by Richard. Forum member Big Pasi said it best, I think:
It sounds like David Gilmour and Nick Mason used a synthesized bass, not a real one. It also sounds like he emulated Roger Water's playing which is fine, but it would have been nice to have the real thing. After you have been playing with a member of a band's style for so long, it's natural to want that sound.
I'm trying to figure how anyone can throw off on this song and then go listen to The Grand Viziers Garden Party with a straight face :/ Hey Hey Rise Up is better than 40% of Ummagumma.
Not a post to add to the annoying Waters/Gilmour debate, but a post relating to how my mind seem to “count time in music”. Funnily i don’t seem to count years (like x member has been gone for x years), but rather i count albums. X member has been gone for x number of albums. Or x member was a member for x number of albums. Just a funny observation, that i’ve never thought of until now.
I think the post was rerferring to how long Guy has been playing Roger's parts live with PF, DG and SoS
