Agree. It took me a while to realize that it's the best version, because the mix tames it too much (which is why I've never been a big fan of the PULSE CD), but the performance is truly amazing when turned up sufficiently enough. The DVD version is pretty good too but Rick's organ almost drowns out David's guitar in spots...
Well, my order from Amazon UK was canceled due to a shipping error from Australia Post. Very strange indeed. Maybe it's a sign not to buy it now ?
Somebody is selling P.U.L.S.E on Blu Ray for £60. What an extortionate price! There's no way I would pay that much. Pink Floyd The Later Years Pulse Bluray | eBay
I was this many days old when I found out that the unintentionally funny ONE OF THESE DAYS screen film exists. Why didn't Rick get an embarrassing screen film? Ah, well.
Bagged one for $250 shipped on eBay. Still too much but I had some PayPal bucks lying around so what the hell. Will probably sell the DVDs to bring it down further.
Think Poly might not like that flirting going on? I mean it was so obvious I guess it will be sold separately just like The Early Years
During Money there is a shot of David blatantly checking out Rachel, which i'm guessing has been removed 7.05-10
Is there any reason some had the band going round and some don't? This looks straight from the facotry and doesn't look like it has one.
Although this is the longest version being available(?) I think there's still missing a few bars in there. Nonetheless it would be awesome if this mix would be part of a remixed version of The Wall, along with other things like the full mix of 'Young Lust' and 'What Shall We Do Now'.
Is this the release you meant? Pink Floyd - Run Like Hell / Comfortably Numb The note on Discogs says that the album versions of the tracks were used for this CD. Man, I wish all these alternate mixes of Wall tracks were available digitally.
On A Collection Of Dance Songs there's a hybrid mix of both the single version (dry and individual intro) and the album mix (guitar solo non-faded). Never liked the fade out on the single. By the way, sorry we go way off-topic here.
And in the same song but from DSOT at 7:00 she blows a kiss to him and that was removed too Pink Floyd - Money (Live, From ''Delicate Sound Of Thunder'')
That whole backup singer 'woo-woo' section was removed, not just that shot. It was about 55 seconds of repetition that was cut. Personally, I hated all that woo-woo stuff, so that's a cut I like!
Probably better that it was cut, but I didn’t mind the ‘woo-woo’ stuff. I only know the audio really (so it’s not my draw to the backup singers being easy on the eyes), as I’ve never had any of this material on DVD (or tape) - or maybe I’ve seen some of it online a time or two, at most. Frankly, I’ve heard “Money” enough (too many) times, that almost ANY variation in the routine was welcome, for the most part - even the reggae breakdown thing (wasn’t that a thing?), or you name it.
I downmixed the 5.1 mix to stereo and got an overall DR of 13 and maximum of 15. It sounds amazing this way and much better than the compressed CD they had
Now I realise bass solo was also removed from both performances, I actually liked it but read Guy doesn't
So this was released right? Any reviews of it and is it worth it? Is it better than early years in any way.
