Anybody tried one of these out yet? It's an interesting concept to have a player that can play SACD, DVD-A and CD, but I'm wondering how much of a compromise in sound quality (if any) has been made. If anyone has experience with one of these units, and can provide feedback, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dan

Dan, Sound & Vision magazine was very impressed with its predecessor, the $1200 DV47A. Performed superbly in just about every way, but lacked complete bass management. At less than half the price, I am VERY curious about the 45 also!!

    VeeDub,

    Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure about Sound & Vision, but most of the reviewers actually thought the DV47A was quite inferior on SACD playback. Supposedly, the 47Ai and 45A corrected that flaw. Since quite a few people on this forum have exceptional systems, and are quite adept listeners, I was trying to solicit some feedback before taking the plunge on a device like this. If you find anything else out, let me know.

    Dan
