As I always post I saw them all in the theaters when originally released and the "Go Ape " festivals. Yeah its easy these days to say they got cheaper and cheaper or worse and worse but other than the "Bond" films sequels were unheard of. The fact that they even kept up a modicum of intelligence and grade "A" music scores and the like was an achievement in those days. Conquest was such a cool film to me because of the political bent, cinematography, music and even the ton of editing that was done slicing off the filmed prolouge and violence of the revolt gave Conquest a hint of mystery of what and why it was done. Even to a 12 year old the edited version that was shown at release did not sit right with me and I was vindicated later on when the cutting up of this film became common knowledge.
If only the prologue is found, man, Conquest 's prologue along with the bloody bits (mostly returned) would really give this film the cred it deserves. John M.
