This got fairly poor reviews when it was released but I actually thought it was alright.
Not great by any means, half decent say.

A big YES on both of these flix. Don’t let subtitles keep you from seeing them.

    They are Must See films.

    Hunt for Red October

    Sum of all fears

    Patriot Games

    The Red Tent -Sean Connery

    The Great Train Robbery

    Eye of the Needle

Quatermass and the Pit - straddles the thriller/sci-fi/horror line

Zulu - the build up on this one is almost unbearable. Most highly recommended especially in hi def.

Foreign Correspondent - Hitchcock from 1940/41

    Manchurian Candidate

Woman in the Window. Edward G Robinson in a jam. Another fave of mine.

Kiss of Death - Richard widmark in a very early role. Psycho-Punk. Legend has it he got punched out in a restaurant by a guy who was so upset with the character he played. Great film.

Panic in the Streets - Richard Widmark again and this is a good one. Won’t say anything more about it. Don’t read about it either. The film sets up and then takes a turn.

    Blue Velvet. Nuff said.

    Did I mention China Town?

    Official Secrets now in theaters.

Best movie of 2019, so far.

Perfect suggestion for a thread asking for "half decent" thrillers but I used "good". :D

Thriller? No. More like sleeping pill, sorry. No thrills there. Nice John Candy scene, though.

The Haunting (1999) is the best film I've seen in a long time. I didn't even have to leave my house.
It was made 20 years ago before screenwriters loaded their movies with profanity (a refreshing change).

I've always found it captivating and entertaining, albeit it was intentionally directed as a satire of manipulative documentaries with re-enactments. It's also surprisingly humorous.

I'm glad you enjoyed The Haunting. Can I just say though - it's a remake, and the original is soooooo much better.

It's in black and white, but there's a scene with a door that is genuinely frightening. Awesome movie.

Dead Calm - 1988 thriller starring Nicole Kidman
Conspiracy Theory - starring Mel Gibson/Julia Roberts

Also would revisit the Grisham movies... such as The Firm, The Pelican Brief, Runaway Jury, etc...

The 90s Clint Eastwood movies are always a good watch: In The Line of Fire, Absolute Power, True Crime
