Wasn't Academy Award nominee Hong Chau in the second episode? I think I saw on Twitter that that was the case.
All of the buzz has been quite positive. The NYT raved and described the show as "retro" but set in the now. It's also apparently a solid throwback to old-school detective shows from decades past, where everything pretty much wraps up in the end. As much as I love "peak TV" and super complicated, long storylines, there is a place for some TV comfort food escapism. I'm looking forward to watching! dan c
Not a fan of Rian Johnson (her voice grates on me) but will give this a go as I've read it's a bit of an homage to Columbo.
Watched "Glass Onion" and liked it enough to check out "Knives Out." Watched "Knives Out" and preferred it over "Glass Onion." All of this led me to check out "Poker Face." I liked the first episode the best but they were all great. Plus, I can never get enough Chloë Sevigny, either.
I've never seen Natasha in anything, but I really enjoyed her in these first 4 episodes. Looking forward to the remaining 6 episodes of this season. Unfortunately since it's on Peacock, there may never be more than one season...
First two episodes are a thumbs up from me. Not the best thing in decades, but an entertaining Columbo styled murder mystery.
I think word of mouth is going to elevate this show. Lyonne’s most famous roles are Orange Is The New Black and American Pie. She sort of plays herself in everything anymore, but I don’t mind.
Is there any way to watch this other than by becoming a premium user on Peacock? I saw the first episode on Peacock without a subscription, but it said I needed one to see any other ones. (I don't want another monthly subscription is what I'm saying).
I did catch the first two episodes of Poker Face, and thought it totally lived up to the stellar reviews. Really original, unpredictable, surprising, and thoroughly entertaining: think "Columbo as a Vegas cocktail waitress." Producer/creator Rian Johnson has a winner here. 'Poker Face' is the crime show of the year
