POLL 2: Which post 2000 album should be (first) released as SHM-SACD (see videos)

Another "SHM-SACD Survey card" suggestion spinoff thread. This is the second poll (in a row of 4) to vote for your favourite post 2000 pop- or rockalbums released by UMG Japan.

Pick max. 3 of your favourites. At the end of the polls I'll make a "hitparade" of the most voted ones and will send them to UMG Japan together with my personal survey cards.

For the older US-forummembers, who have no clue who those artists are. I added a video with a popular song from the album (all live performances). If you want to hear more, there's youtube, internet, itunes to listen to snippets of the album ;) Please discover the artists and cast your votes!

This thread is not about old vs new music (off course the Beatles were better), DSD vs PCM, Justin Bieber or whatever,... Many other threads for those discussions.

    01) The Killers "Sam's Town"
    02) Keane "Under The Iron Sea"
    03) Pearl Jam "Backspacer"
    04) Arcade Fire "The Suburbs"
    05) The Airborne Toxic Event "The Airborne Toxic Event"

    Vote 1: The Killers

    Vote 2: Keane

    Vote 3: Pearl Jam

    Vote 4: Arcade Fire

Vote 5: The Airborne Toxic Event

    Here? Good one ;)

I question whether the ones listed would benefit from another format. I do love the Arcade Fire disc, it is brilliant. I am shamed to admit I have not heard #5 :hide:

The voice of Airborne Toxic Event's singer reminds my dad of Neil Diamond ;)

Why shouldn't it benefit. All modern pop records are way too loud mastered. So if they start with "old school mastering".

I really got headache from The Killers-album because of the flat distorted sound without any dynamics.

Like said in the other topic. There will be also no tape his on these releases ;)

Give those records some dynamics, let them breathe!

I must admit I loved the sound on the Keane CD that snuck out way back when (Hopes & Fears). I would be willing to give another album a chance.

Finally some Airborne Toxic Event fans at this forum :)

Many people seem to be negative about modern rock and pop. But IMO not all of the "announced" classic rock titles are that timeless either??? (because I hurt some of the forum members feelings, most of them are very good ;) )
