I also have more favorite albums in 1967, in comparison to 1968. But I think that by 1968 rock music became richer in terms of diversity, and probably that's why one may not like everything at the same level.

In Search of the Lost Chord should've been included on this list, imo....

Vincebus Eruptum almost entered into the poll, but it didn't qualify according to the applied criteria.

Filles was recorded in '68 but I don't think it came out, in the States at least, til early '69. It is easily as wonderful as anything on this list. "In the Sky" not quite so much, but still fine, IMHO, YMMV. Blue Note was still putting out strong records, but their release schedule had gotten a little scrambled so I'd have to check what actually came out that year. Early AACM is quite amazing, but I'd have to check dates. Did Ayler's Love cry or Live In the Village come out in '68? And what about Shepp and Sanders? And surely there's more great blues, R&B, and country even though they were still pretty singles oriented. Nothing wrong with what's here, but it's only part of the picture.

Aretha, Stones, Hendrix, and Van were easy picks. Went for Truth as fifth but maybe the first Creedence or Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac ?
