New song is the best thing they've done since Deadwing to my ears.

No Colin Edwin on bass then?

No Colin in this reunion. Porcupine Three we can say.

I expect more will be pressed, they have got around 8 months to press them. I recall the limited red vinyl of TFB was repressed once it sold out. That's the one I ended up getting, months after the album was announced.

I'll look forward to seeing if my local store get an exclusive indies vinyl.

The title of the new album is reminiscent of the names of Pink Floyd’s Early Years discs.

And… quite confronting to hear the first new song from the new album with a non-Colin bass-riff like that

A bit of something for everyone in this first track, perhaps?

    I like it, anyway :)

Preordered the blue exclusive. Beyond excited with the announcement. A bit disappointed that they dropped Colin though. Who's playing bass now, Nick Beggs or someone else?

The picture of the cassette and CD on the album pre-order shows the running times for the album tracks:

    3. 5.40
    4. 8.22
    5. 7.02
    6. 4.26
    7. 9.40

I was honestly not 100% expecting to like the new song, given that I rarely if ever listen to PT anymore, but I'm hooked. Feels like a "modern" PT, if that makes sense. A bit of everything, yet not like an amalgamation of all previous things.

I wonder, since it's credited to Wilson and Harrison, if Harrison wrote the bass riff. As far as I remember he wrote the bridge to Halo on bass and came up with the drum part second.

And in Apple Music, it would be 10 track album so I assume the 7 tracks are actual album tracks and 3 tracks would be bonus tracks for deluxe box set...

First listen: Great song. With billions of details and moments

Light years better than the godawful 'The Future Bites'

    Who plays bass on this?

Similar graphics to the Future Bites promos. I like the quieter bit near 3:00!

Sorry, but this does not sound that different to the first couple of SW solo albums, which weren't radically different to the last few PT albums. I do look forward to more being released.

I can only listen on earbuds at work, I'll have a proper listen tonight though.

Same here- hope this isn't the best track. I mean, it's spectacular, but did they release the best song first?

    Can. Not. Wait.

Amen to that… this is the stuff!
Pre ordered the black vinyl from the band site, provides access to the tour pre sale apparently.

Next June? What's the deal, more supply line difficulties?

Interesting news, I'll be cautiously optimistic. I'm in the group that has kind of lost interest in SW's latest stuff, but I'll definitely give this one a chance.

I have pre-ordered the deluxe CD set from Amazon Germany to avoid any hassle with fees/VAT when ordering from the UK.
