Finished my hidden album shelves. Deciding on a 4th level. These will hold the current selection behind the sound panel.

I slid the panel to the right for greater access to the cubby.

The undistorted and uncropped Rubber Soul cover pic would be close to a no brainer for me. I'm still surprised that the only version of that pic showed up on the internet and nowhere else.

Finally got my reorganizing project done after a few new additions.. maybe some room treatments behind the speakers is next. Going to figure out some DIY or something.

    The rabbit hole goes deep.

But as usual there is a method to our madness.

    Enjoy!

Using the Onkyo A9150 again. I didn't like it in my old place in a bigger room, but in here the power is perfect. Very natural and full sounding for the money.

I think I want to learn about room treatment before I spend more on gear.

    Catcher10 I like records, and Prog...duh

Excellent looking room! I have found with my speakers that I don't need much toe in at all, I sit about 3m from my speakers and have maybe 1/2" toe in. This gave me a better soundstage and simply opened up the sound much more, rather than directing sound waves to my chair in that "audiophile" triangle position. It takes experimentation and patience, once you move speakers you have to listen for a few days, I also found 1/2" movements were best......I achieved better bass response too, the room fills with sound seems better now.
    YMMV

Yes the form factor is pretty cool. This is my first DAP since my iPod classic so to me it sounds great. I prefer flat and loud so I can’t say much about the eq presets or filters. There is a shuffle mode but it only applies to the current folders songs. Initially I tried loading music onto the micro sd while still in the unit. For me and my Mac this did not work, sd in a usb card reader works great. The interface is very intuitive and compensated for the shabby manual. A guy on Headpie put together an advanced manual that’s much more useful.

Ponder the possibility that you may not need room treatments...

My brother has a knack for finding old-school Japanese tube pre-amps and he has loaned me one to test out. Two ECC83s in the phono stage and two ECC82s in the line stage. The two of us spent an evening comparing it to my usual gear and he snapped this photo...

Mine are the same way except even smaller increments of adjustment.. It took a couple of weeks of micro adjustments after I had added some Gaia III's and re-positioning was nerve racking. I also now identify Jennifer Warnes/Ballad of a Runaway Horse as a drinking song lol.

??? - Not sure why this advice was given since he didn't bother to explain himself. IMO ALL, I repeat, ALL listening rooms can benefit from room treatments. Are they absolutely necessary? Of course not, but neither is owning stereo equipment! ;)
