All of your projects are so cool. Thanks for sharing.

Can you tell us more about the speaker cabinets? Each with a single full-range driver, so no crossover, correct? I'm curious about the design/philosophy behind the speakers.

The design is from Scott Lindgren. They are basically bass reflex double horns. One full range Fostex FE167E driver. You can search Moose BVR (bass vent reflex) and Spawn Family horns.

These are high efficiency speakers. I can drive with with my 6DN7 amp and it is only 1 1/2 watts per channel. The chip amp is 35 and way more than I need. If not in the guest room where my grandson stays, I would use a 2A3 at 3 1/2 watts. There is magic with low watt SET amps and full range drivers.

    Hey Phil,

Does that little monitor come with an AC adaptor? Or is there a battery that needs routine charging?

    Thanx in advance.

Yes I have an addiction called audio. There is no cure. I can only feed it more gear. As for the house, there is no audio in the kitchen, bath rooms or the master bedroom...so far.

It has a battery and it came with an ac adapter and a car adapter and an av cable. I am planning on connecting it to my DVD player in my car eventually. It was only forty bucks!

A few changes since my last post to this thread. Added a Rega RP1 and replaced the Yamaha SD-1800 CD/DVD player with a Sony Playstation 1. Really like the synergy of this setup. Other components are:

    Ascend Sierra 1 speakers
    Sony TA-F444ESX amplifier
