AT450 Universal mount on my Realistic LAB-440. This is the stylus in the microscope picture on my avatar right now.
This Clearaudio Titanium V2 arrived yesterday. Oh my...it's fantastic. A bit more transparent and detailed than the Benz.
Running with a Clearaudio Concept MC right now on my Micro Seiki BL-91 with MA-505 arm, sounding pretty nice ... mates well with the headshell, using paper fiber washers for a solid connection at the headshell/tonearm interface ...
Audio Technica SS445E/U Universal on the SL-D205 that I just got second hand The SS445E/U has a nude elliptical stylus and tracks as well as my old AT-440MLa. But it's only a temporary cart here. I need to save it for my p-mount tables.
Yea, that $466 price is a pretty nice deal if it delivers the sound. Mine was riding the grooves on the Broadcast The Future Crayon album in the picture, followed by Tender Buttons. Still very early for me, so can't say much for sure yet, but it does sound good, don't hear anything obviously wrong, but in my case, I have an AT-OC9/III on the another headshell, so will swap back and forth a few times in the coming weeks to get a handle on the main differences. Spec-wise, the OC9XML is lower compliance, but AT specs can be misleading, the OC9/III has a resonance around 8Hz on this deck, and well damped, haven't checked the new one yet. The OC9/III has the same cantilever and SL stylus as the ART9, along with same compliance spec, whereas this new one has the Microline. May work my Benz Micro Wood SL into the mix, have another spare headshell, it's currently mounted on another table. The new OC9XML and Benz Wood probably use the same Namiki cantilever and ML/MR stylus.
Nice, sounds fun. It'll be cool to see how it stacks up against your other very nice carts. I'm limited in my comparisons but can already start to hear differences between my previous cart, the Zu DL103.
Those Japanese style 100hz compliance specs are worthless. Miller Audio Research tested the OC9X-SH and the Western style compliance was something like 23 CU. I'd imagine that's true for the majority of the OC9X line. They all should be very similar. Audio-Technica AT-OC9XSH Cartridge Lab Report
Benz Gullwing on a Clearaudio Ovation (Tracer arm). This is just about an end game cart for me. I've had it only for a few months, but it's getting A LOT of use. Beautifully balanced, great tracker. Lovely cartridge.
anyone have a line on shorter screws? the short ones that came with the Art9 are too short so I'm forced to use the these.
Shorter and unfortunately a small screw head to fit in the ART9 body- a very oddball screw, I gave up the hunt after I bought a new cartridge. your pic is how mine looked installed on the Technics headshell. It's about time AT threaded the ART bodies. Good luck but in the mean time enjoy the sound !
