I managed to get the LP on the cheap care of bestbuy.com last month, and I think that this is an LP that can really benefit from the brightness of the 440. Just my personal preference. :)

Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

Outstanding clarity and detail. It does seem to be a bit light on the bass, though.

The AT33PTG! But, the new cart sounds miles better, IMO!

Do you still use the AT cart?

Here is a bit of "lie awake" from Alison Krauss- paper airplane. I just tuned up my old Well Tempered WTRP to sell and was spinning this and it just sounded so good.

This was done with the Benz Ruby 2 and an experimental tube phono stage into my inspire card at 24/96 > 24/44.1. No other processing.

I'm selling my copy of "Electric Jimi Hendrix" and as I was doing soundclips for it I thought I might as well share a needledrop of "All Along The Watchtower" with you as it is a rather scarce LP.

The source is a Van den Hul MC2/Michell Techno Arm/Michell Orbe, phono stage is a Trichord Dino/Dino+ and it was recorded as a DSD file on a Korg MR-1000, I then converted it to 24/96 PCM using AudioGate other than that there has been no processing and what you hear is the original recording.

24/96 FLAC. Freni / Pavarotti - "O Soave Fanciulla" (60 sec sample). From Puccini's "La Bohème" (1973, Karajan / Berliner Philharmoniker).

    AT440Mla cart / AT-LP120-USB TT
Furutech GT40 for the phono stage and ADC / Audioquest Forest USB cable
Audacity (under Ubuntu x64) to FLAC.

Here's a perfect situation where the 440's clarity/surface noise is a tough call - this track really "pops" with the 440, but I had to jack up the CR settings to reduce the surface noise. It is what it is.

24/96 FLAC. The Doors - "Waiting for the Sun" (60 sec sample). From "Morrison Hotel" (Rhino re-issue).

New (vintage) turntable, so all my future drops will show up with the SL-3200 most likely. I also got a Grado Green cart which I haven't really gotten a feel for, yet. I also need to start testing Audacity 2.0 soon.

Samples of "Search and Destroy" and "Gimme Danger" from today's Record Store Day release of Iggy & The Stooges' Raw Power. These are from the 2nd LP in the set, the "Iggy Mix" which, in its CD version, is one of the most notoriously brickwalled releases of all time. Well, not any more. This release sounds GREAT.

Here is a quick sample from the new 45 RPM issue of "Fleetwood Mac" for anyone who is interested. I haven't had a chance to do a careful needle drop, but this should give a good idea.

My turntable is a Rega P3 and I have a Denon DL-301 Mk II mounted on it right now.
