If I have a 10 pound package in a 16x14x6 box, can I send it from the US to Norway using standard tracked / registered US-mail? I tried to calculate it all into PayPal Shipstation but it only gave me a bunch of Priority choices. I know you can't send anything First Class International if it's over four pounds. The buyer is requesting me looking into it further for a better rate. On another note, this is why I don't like sending out of country as buyers don't understand the US doesn't give a lot of cheap options. It never fails to be a big hassle.
Welcome to my world in Canada. It really sucks, but unfortunately it's still the cheapest and all we've got unfortunately. I had a Forum member balk at the fact I could only send him between 3 -5 CD's for $17 without tracked shipping.
They should understand as it may cost even more for the US to get the amount of weight into Canada. I'm pretty sure I recently sent something at work that was 2 lbs and it cost over $20.
It has levels. I'm guessing the lesson learned is anything over 4 pounds will have to go out Priority. Anything under can be First Class if chosen (which is the cheapest way I've seen).
The link below provides a list of every country where you get a tracking number when using First Class International (which you can't use if mailing a parcel 4 lbs. or heavier): https://faq.usps.com/s/article/Electronic-USPS-Delivery-Confirmation-International
@cwitt1980 Is the 10 pounder a box set (or something else) that could be subdivided into portions weighing <4# each?
