Am I the only one who thinks it interesting that the OP picked all British bands?

You could make just as valid a list using all US bands.

But I'll play along. I'd rank the bands in the same order as they are listed in the poll with the exception of swapping Led Zep and Pink Floyd.
    1. Beatles
    2. Stones
    3. Who
    4. Zep
    5. Floyd
    6. Queen

As I stated in the original post, the thread is asking how you would rate who I believe to be the six most popular English rock bands based on sales and general popularity. While I assume a lot of the people on the forum like The Kinks more than Queen, they simply didn't sell as much. The Who didn't sell as much as the 5 others, but the whole reason the thread was made was to see how the general forum would rank The Who with the other 5. I hope this clears it up a bit.

    1. Fabs
    2. Floyd
    3. Th' 'oo
    3. Zep
    5. Queen
    6. Stones

Though truthfully I love' em all. Fabs will always be #1 in my book. Floyd ekes out the #2 slot over the 'Oo, only because their pastoral pre-Dark Side stuff is 100% up my alley. Then the' Oo, which if they're truly less popular than the others I would say it's because Townshend rapidly became a much more mature songwriter than his contemporaries, and therefore less appealing to the average rock dude.

Speaking of the average rock dude, Zep is next because maybe parts of their first two lps aside, they're timeless.

I'll give Queen #5 over the Stones because while their Prime Years were a bit briefer than the Stones', I love Queen's highlights a bit more, personally. But that's a tough one.

I don't understand the percentages breakdown, at the moment The Beatles lead with 63.6% of the vote.
With a total of 109 votes their 35 votes is actually 32.1 %

What US classic rock band would be up there with these 6 in terms of popularity and lasting legacy?

It's like a Grandpa Rock cage match.

Anyway in my order of preference:

    1. Beatles
    2. Floyd
    3. Zep
    4. Stones
    5. Queen
    6. Who

And I'd have The Kinks between Zep and Stones.

Zeppelin formed in 68, while Queen formed in 70. A different generation?

Queen may have been formed in 1970 but they didn't have an album out until 1973. Anyway they are a seventies band all the others are sixties bands. Also I was 13/14 in 1970, two years was an eternity.

While true Queen (1) wasn't released until 1973, they were performing a lot of the songs from that album since their formation, and the album was ready by 1972, the record company just wouldn't release the album. Similarly Queen II was supposed to be released in 1973, but was delayed until 1974. That's why Queen released two albums that year.

Also, while the other bands all formed in the 60's, with the exception of The Beatles, each of their most popular albums came out in the 1970's. Some Girls, The Dark Side of the Moon, Who's Next and Led Zeppelin 4 respectively.

The first post explains a mystery: how Queen got on the ballot. :)

My top two are Beatles and Stones, with The Who a close third.

Queen got on the poll because they are a top 5 rock band period based off of sales. In fact, all but The Who are in the top 5 best selling bands of all time.
