I’m reading the latest Robert Crais novel ‘A Dangerous Man.’ I wouldn’t be surprised if his characters Elvis Cole and Joe Pike inspired both the Ray Donovan and Lucas Hood character.

There should be a drinking game based upon every time Ray says
`what?'. And when Bridget started singing a Hollies tune this season
came dangerously close to jumping the proverbial shark, imo.

I haven't watched the fourth episode yet and I'm not sure I will. I might be out. Mickey showing up at the end of the third episode was kind of a 'jump the shark' moment for me. It was just way too predictable that something like that was going happen.

Well...having killed Abby off, I guess they couldn't kill off another major character so soon. I love Jon Voight in the role, and he's a great actor, but the series could have survived without him, and maybe been better for it.

But something happened near the end of this last episode that had my eyes rolling pretty hard. I'll stick with it 'til the end like I usually do with shows I love, but it was a real "Oh, c'mon, they can't be...no, they're not...oh yes they are" sort of thing.

I guess it was at the end of the second where he shows up. My mistake.

Too many cringe worthy moments in this season, it will be my last.

Kerris Dorsey sings and plays guitar. She's done it before in Ray Donovan, and her whole career, as far as I know. I don't know why that alone would be a "jump the shark" moment.

Fair enough - but how many young women today are going to start crooning
`The Air That I Breathe'. Well, maybe one or two. ;)

There's the "Creep" connection, but that's probably a stretch for a 21 year old in 2019. You have a point. The guys in Radiohead are all 50 or close to it.

Somebody asked if they jumped the shark yet? My reply is .... "YA THINK"? They should have buried this series two years ago. I don't mind having to suspend disbelief ... but come on! Ray casually walks around in broad daylight with his "supposedly dead" father, who has caked-on blood all over his face and clothes from the bus accident which NOBODY would have been able to survive (DUH...the entire bus was engulfed in flames from front to back in a nano-second but somehow daddy was able to escape out the back door). So here we have Ray escorting his bloodied dad who is supposed to now be dead all around town, including into the Staten Island home, into the airport where there might be just ... oh...1 or 2,000 cameras.... JEEZ! Are the writers this lazy?

The show jumped the shark last season when Bridget picked up a chainsaw & started dismembering bodies.

I’m out. Last 2 episodes sucked. Tomorrow I’m canceling my HBO/Showtime package ($22/month) for a few months. Not interested in any current shows on either channel.

YES.....That too! All of a sudden this young lady has the sociopathic-capabilities to casually saw human bodies as if she was at the manicurist! With absolutely NO guilt or remorse on her part afterwards. And Live Schreiber is reduced to no more than around 3 to 4 grunts and mumbles ... "WHA"? "Be right there". "WHA"? He finally smiled in last night's episode and I figured it was just due to some gas pockets.

She's a Donovan. They kidnapped her. She's supposed to feel guilt over them? Please.

    1) That cop's got Ray's confession on tape and he gonna get away with it. The thought of taking down the mayor will be too much for her to resist.

    2) No matter how good things start to go for them, the Donovan's always find a way to screw up their lives. Ray's gonna find out that Sullivan was banging his sister and/or got her hooked. Bunchy's probably gonna end up sleeping with the mother of the kid he killed. Daryll got his girlfriend killed and is he gonna end up in prison just like his mom predicted? Even son-in-law Smitty is a f***-up. He was crying when she confessed to boinking her boss? What about when she finds out he sold out her dad?

That’s too bad. I still enjoyed it, for the most part, mostly due to the excellent cast. I assumed the next one would be the last.

And they filmed quite a bit of Season 6 in and around Nyack, NY, a town I know very well.

They need to wrap it up with a two hour special/movie.

Low ratings? High cost? Artistic difference? The usual Hollywood bull-loney?
