Recalled Born in the U.S.A. CD?

Check out the eBay auction below. The seller claims that this Japanese mini-LP CD of Bruce Springsteen Born in the U.S.A. was recalled. Note the opening bid of $260. What's this all about?

I believe it was the 20 bit SBM mastered disc. It was released in Japan for a short time and now sells for big bucks on ebay.

 

Chris, thanks for the info. I guess Sony forgot to release the remaster in the US. They've also forgotten to give us the SACD. Seriously though, I'd love to hear the remastered CD, but not at $260.

 

I have a burn of the Japanese 20 bit SBM disc. Nothing special at all. In fact I can't hear any difference (except more hiss) than from the domestic release.

A rare case where hiss is not our friend.
