re; that Ministry album, wouldve never thought of that as stoner/doom but now that I think of the "lava" track, you might be on to something... Yeah I was a bit bummed at first too. Some pacey ("pacey") bluesy stuff. Still, has endured plenty of revisits. They still got it I reckon. my newest thing is SUMAC. damn i love this album
Not really sure if we can call them "stoner", but this is an amazing band. I'm hopping for a new album... Can't understand why there's not a single review for their albums at the allmusic site. Aren't they good enough for a review !?
—Anything by Brandt Bjork, ex Kyuss drummer and Fu Manchu producer. —Kyuss, of course. Blues for the Red Sun is the go-to for most, but don’t overlook Welcome to Sky Valley. —Absolutely look into Dead Meadow, Uncle Acid, Dope Throne, and a personal favorite: Tia Carrera (The band, not the actress. Though you may have already looked into her. Many, many have.)
This is what I'd first thought of. It's psychedelic rock & that's what I usually consider stoner (so, it's not what I consider hard rock). It's, also, not 60s hippie stoner music; it's 21st Century. (For 60s hippie stoner music, see below clip.) Band formed in 2003. Giving clip for Full Album. Inner Journey Out (2016) - Psychic Ills For 60s hippie stoner music, go to Traffic: Dear Mr. Fantasy U.S. version (w/Dear Mr. Fantasy, Paper Sun, etc.) Providing very tripp-y clip (check Stevie Winwood's eyes!!) for live Dear Mr. Fantasy. Paper Sun TRAFFIC - Dear Mr. Fantasy (LIVE 1972) Steve Winwood
jesus, page 805 and still EVERY time this thread gets bumped some old duder wanders in with "heyyy, Pink Floyd!" little recourse other than to screenshot this google image search montage:
Not exactly stoner but more "slurrer and stumblin" rock that gets you into that walking along a tropical beach with a lot of formaldehyde laced beer inside of you mood.... you Navy vets know what I mean lol.... I think Shane being drunk while in the studio (while not a good thing in itself) gives this album its charm.
