Hey all, I’m gonna be in Dayton for a wedding and I was wondering if y’all had any advice on good record stores in the city. Thanks!

Omega Music and Skeleton Dust are your best bets downtown. Omega is a “typical” shop that sells pretty much everything and has a wide selection of CDs and LPs (and even a good number of cassettes). Skeleton Dust is smaller and has a heavier emphasis on noise/experimental stuff, but they also have a pretty good selection of other stuff too—plus it’s small, so you can do both in one afternoon.

If you’re ok with CD only, Second Time Around has a decent selection. Depending on how far outside downtown you want to venture, you could also hit Toxic Beauty in Yellow Springs (almost entirely vinyl), and there’s a 2nd & Charles (used books/media chain w/CDs and vinyl) in Kettering.

There’s also a Half Price Books in Beavercreek.

Omega is an awesome store. I've been frequently going there for the last six months or so since I moved to the Dayton area and I've found lots of great stuff at good prices.
I even found an RL led Zeppelin II for $3 there in pretty good shape!

Cincinnati is an hour south too. Omega is worth going to. Used Kids in Cinci. Magnolia Thunderpussy comes to mind in Columbus.

Used Kids is my favorite store in Columbus (not Cinci).
Been meaning to check out Plaid Room Records in Loveland, OH.
