RIP Michael Lang, sad news to read very early Sunday....even if you weren't at Woodstock. What a Festival both who performed and some who probably missed out on the exposure in late 60's early 70's it was the dawning of Age of Aquarius.

Thank you for all of your artistic and creative gifts and even losing your shirt on all the ticketing issues. Condolences to all who knew or worked with a History maker Michael Lang.

Aww man thats a bummer. Michael Lang so embodied the spirit of Woodstock to me. When you watch that movie and realize its some barechested hippie basically organizing this thing it sure is a world away from the faceless organizations organizing festivals today. So long Mr. Lang thanks for being the catalyst to some truely amazing times.

Man there seems to be a run on famous people passing away in the 1st week of 2022. Every time I click on my homepage there is new that someone has died. Hate to see it.

Sad to see Lang go. He definitely left behind him a big legacy and enriched so many lives. Doesn't matter what generation you're in, most people have heard about Woodstock in some way, shape or form.

Another sad death. I was watching the Criterion of GIMME SHELTER last evening and Michael makes a brief appearance . Somewhat of a ZELIG character in the best eras of modern music.

He was an interesting fellow. Met him one night in a Shoprite supermarket and thought he looked young for his age.
He was friendly and stopped to chat for a moment. Woodstock was not mentioned.

    rest in peace, brother.

Mr. Lang graciously signed my copy of the Woodstock: Back To The Garden 38CD super deluxe edition (ltd. ed. 1,969 copies). I took the box, which I had received via UPS just 24 hours prior, to a Woodstock 50th anniv. event at Morrison Hotel Gallery, Sunset Marquis Hotel, West Hollywood. This was August 4, 2019. Henry Diltz, Baron Wolman, John Sebastian, and Rhino exec Steve Woolard also were happy to provide their autographs in black Sharpie to the sides of the wooden crate. A one-of-a-kind item.

He was able to cut / circumvent the inevitable "red-tape" and provide the World with an event that will forever be talked about. marking it as a true
touchstone moment in concert events, in History and in Music.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Lang and Thank You.
