I was listening today to Roger's duet with Meat Loaf on the song "Bad Attitude" (1984).

I recently finished reading Roger's excellent memoir Thanks a Lot Mr. Kibblewhite. This song was not mentioned in the book.

Just curious if anyone recalls how this collaboration came about.

And yes, Happy 80th to Roger... what an amazing career! :righton:

A small point that rarely gets noted - during the 1070s when tax rates for the wealthy were staggeringly high in the UK, he stayed and paid, unlike many of his peers who disappeared to Monaco. That resolutely working class attitude also includes him doing that.

Love that song along with "After The Fire"

Also 80! Wow! Still hard to believe. Crazy to think he outlived all the greats such as Moon, Bowie, Petty, Zappa, etc. I bet the man has lot of stories to tell.......

In 1975, I worked as an usher at a movie theater. Tommy played to sold out crowds and I must have seen it 100's of times. Memorized a lot of it.
Lisztomania also played at the theater and had a much shorter run. I gotta revisit that one, as I have little memory of it.

A show was just announced for Roger in my area. I'd like to go, but I was just reading a thread about a tour last year that had some problems. Hmmmm...

He's 80. He's bound to have problems sometimes. His voice is utterly remarkable for his age.

His latest act of many comical acts is blaming the EU (six years after the UK left it) because he didn't get a planning permission on his farm.
This guy was a great singer but his interviews are really an example of the reasons why you don't want to know too much about your "idols".

I love his anti EU stance, he's my idol! We love Europe but not Brussels.

And now that I no longer live in the UK I am happy that our union doesn't include the UK so we are all happy.
That doesn't change the fact that what he says in his interviews is ignorant, misguided and idiotic.

Nah, he just says what the man on street thinks. His interviews are accurate and spot on. Too much to go into but he just talks sense if your not blinded by unelected bureaucracy!

Listen, there are rules here about not talking about politics, you are ignoring them and I would need to do the same to reply properly to your message. You have more than 1000 unelected lords in your country (more than elected MPs) so, you have a lot to worry about without thinking too much about our union.
I said that I consider what he says idiotic and ignorant but I avoided politics.

PS: "you're" not "your". It's YOUR language YOU'RE mangling.

Sometimes, though, no matter what a rocker's income is, a big-wig corporation will make an offer too big to refuse.

Believe me, no big-wig corp is going to make an offer on Roger solo, The Who, I'm sure Townshend gets the offers. Yes, his income compared to Townshend is paltry because of the songwriting, however; Pete sold his and the checks don't arrive, but his bank account is huge due to the sale.

You politicised it talking nonesence about a ferel state. The EU is finnished, when Le Pen becomes PM of France the failed experiment is finnished.

I can't argue with that. Indeed Helsinki is one of the 27 EU capitals.
