As seen on braindamage.co.uk: Pink Floyd news :: Brain Damage - Roger Waters releases live Radio KAOS recordings Spotify link: KAOS FM 1987 (live) Youtube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nfUbCgHJO-WCy6N0zW1gVQb71lNHe4izI Not the entire show by a long shot, based on this posted setlist: Roger Waters Setlist at Seattle Center Arena, Seattle Does sound good though, definitely from an FM broadcast. For what it's worth, only two of the posted songs so far are actually from Radio KAOS.
LOL — no f'ing way that is an official release, certainly not one approved by Waters. Can you spot the embarrassing error in the cover art?
Thanks! Enjoying right now and it sounds great. FYI, I couldn't find it searching under Roger Waters. Had to type in KAOS FM.
It is but some of the info in the description is suspicious: "Provided to YouTube by IIP-DDS" as opposed to When We Were Young which says "Provided to YouTube by Columbia" The copyright notice also says "℗ 2022 The Media Champ" as opposed to When We Were Young which says "℗ 2017 Jule Pond Productions LLC, under exclusive license to Columbia Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment". The playlist containing these songs also does not appear on Roger's channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/rogerwaters/playlists The Media Champ appears to be a bootleg label: The Media Champ IIP-DDS appears to be a legitimate uploading software used by a music distribution company: There are a lot of misconceptions on this page about Tidal, IIP-DDS, FUGA, etc. So, The Media Champ uploaded these videos and used the right tags in this software, prompting Youtube to sort it onto Roger's Youtube channel. Interesting!
I see. Also, when I google "IIP-DDS", it looks like that agency has tried monetizing other people's work? Hard to tell so far.
Looks like a bootleg to me. A lot of unofficial stuff makes its way on streaming services from time to time, and is promptly removed
Updated my post with a Medium link; the software used appears to be legit, the uploaders not so much.
I'm fairly sure that's an actual pic from the tour, not a weird photoshop. There are other pictures of him from that tour, in that outfit, playing an electric guitar. For instance: https://in.pinterest.com/pin/514043744968700035/ This is a bootleg, nonetheless.
That was my first time ever seeing Waters in '87, really enjoyed the show. The album hasn't aged so well (as RW is the first to admit) on its own, but the show, with Ladd as the DJ and the videos and the Floyd songs and a few from Pros & Cons really made for a great evening. Way more interesting than the "Floyd" show I saw a few months later, that's for sure...
Damn. Almost got through one Floyd-related thread without the Gilmour-vs-Waters stuff rearing its horrible head. Better luck next time, boys.
I had no knowledge of this until I got an alert from Facebook this morning from Roger’s official Facebook page. Bizarre.
What was going on with his vocals on this album/tour? He sounds like an old man groaning pitifully over his thrown out back, and Principal McVicker from Beavis and Butthead. Particularly on the "Radio Waves" song.
It’s curious. He also sounded a bit like this on the KAOS album and even on Amused to Death. And then as soon as the In the Flesh tour started seven years later, he sounded amazing again. Compare him singing “Perfect Sense” on the studio album versus the live one. He’s reverse aging!
Except that's not one of Roger's six-string guitars in the cover pic, it's his black P-bass (look at the bridge) — with a Stratocaster neck and headstock digitally pasted over top!
