Searching the site for @Jackflash27 and myself produced a much higher price of $374.32, that's why I asked... but thanks for the implication that I've got no Google-fu @mick_sh and @Mazzy

I hope this email from Miles implis he picked the DSD masters. If so these should be really good. My guess is that the DSD masters are from the SHM-SACD releases the Universal Japan did of the post ABKCO Stones' albums which IMHO are excellent. Also I have some of the vinyl that was made from the ABKCO era SACD's and you cannot here the difference between those SACD's and the vinyl made from those DSD masters.

Regarding the concerns in this thread around different regions receiving different formats for their digital downloads (I think the concern is that EU could get Wav while US is MP3)

If that was to happen, I guess there’s two ways it would be policed. Either the codes on the vouchers would determine the region and format the download is in…or it would be based on the location we access the download site from (IP) …If it’s the latter then perhaps there is a way around this for those that have bought US boxes and want the WAV files...

I may be over thinking it.

Is this really limited to 5000? Any links as to where this was posted?

I’ve considering using a VPN to access the WAV files if that is an issue. However, they might put other safeguards in place to ensure that North American cutomers can’t get to the WAV files.

    All speculation at this point.

Yeah all speculative & I don't understand what the reason could be for doing this in the first place and it's really not clear in the product descriptions.

On Amazon US, where I've pre-ordered, it's described as 'HD Digital' which should cut it...

This was on SuperDeluxeEdition in the comments...

The pre-release box set on display at Selfridges in London this week (as part of the No Filler promotion) shows the box set as individually numbered and limited to 5000.

  15. 5000 seems kind of a lot to me. Boxes are not mass sellers. But again , like in so many other threads here, folks will bitch when they sell out.

I understand we can’t buy everything right away , but people need to buy these sets sooner than later if they really want them. Save up as they are expensive.

Thanks. I suspect the window of opportunity for the new set will be even tighter then, given the popularity of Sticky Fingers, Exile, etc.

I think for the Stones, 5,000 is somewhat limited. I mean the Liz Phair boxset was limited to 1,900 and sold out within a few days of release as a comparison.

I agree that 5,000 seems a lot. And it will eventually sell out - but at current prices it won’t sell out soon.

As I see it, the real attractions to this set for most Stones fans would be the possibility of a decent pressing of Exile (but many sheep already believe they have one with the recent 1/2 speed) and filling in a gap(s) with the four OOP post-1990 LPs. The recent Sticky Fingers pressing is quite good and the rest are still fairly easily obtainable (if you don’t already have most or all of them) and were well mastered from the get-go.

I just don’t see THAT many people lining up to buy this set at $350-$400+

I may be deaf but my copy og Exile 1/2
I may be deaf but my copy of the 1/2 speed Exile masters sound great to my ears at least much better to the 2010 disaster.

They’re basically the same. Showell may have tweaked the 1/2 speed a bit, but they’re from the same eq’d compressed digital production master. Showell has admitted as much.

But thanks for helping affirm my point.
