Definitely a few interesting titles on the list, but as usual there are no mastering details of any sort… so my default is to avoid them all and buy older pressings instead. Guess I get to stay home this time again!

Well, I like the sound of that Sonny Rollins release, and there's a few more on that list that interest me. But this is very soon after the RSD Drops, which already cost me a pretty penny. I personally would have liked some more space to catch my breath!

I have a hard time spending so much money in so little time, and when buying so many releases, most end up gathering dust before I find the time to listen to them.

Everything I’ve gotten from Real Gone has been solid. Looking forward to the Fountains Of Wayne release.

I am so excited about Bangles and especially FOW. Any info about source/mastering? I presume both were digital masters but don't know for sure. May have been high res?

I’m glad so many people are poo pooing this list. Maybe the line won’t be too long.

I was looking at that one, but isn't that just before they broke up? I'm wondering if the show suffers from the tensions that were in the band by then. I've heard that Jay refused to harmonize on any of Jeff's songs at that point. I wish this release was from a couple years earlier.

Man, a lot of things going n the list I would love to have.

    Aimee Mann
    Bill Evans
    Uncle Tupelo
    Drive By Truckers

Several other things I would probably impulse buy.

Was Isbell still with the band at that point or had he already left?

They officially broke up 5 weeks later, this Lounge Ax gig would be from their “farewell tour”. I’m excited to hear it exactly because of this. It’s probably not going to be their most cohesive live show but hopefully a great document of the band at the end... with so much more for Jeff and Jay to come individually shortly after.

But I agree, a live recording from a few years earlier would have likely been a better choice with UT at their best together.

He was still with the band at that point... makes it an automatic buy for me.

I’m a somewhat newcomer to the band but I think so. I looked at the track list and there are several of his songs. I’m sure someone more knowledgeable can weigh in.

I’m actually finding more purchases on this list than the other RSD drop dates. Looking at these releases:
    Alice In Chains Sap
    Anthrax Soldiers of Metal
Baroness Live at Maida Vaile vol 2
    Buckcherry self/titled
    Chris Cornell Patience
    Mick Fleetwood Green Manalishi
Jewel Live at the Inner Change
    Linkin Park Meteora
    Motörhead On Parole
    Shadows Fall Of One Blood
    Tesla Great Radio Controversy
    Volbeat Hokus Bonus

I also noticed that Baroness release - interesting, as it may sound better than Gold & Grey. I hope it's a better omen for them - the first Maida Vale preceded the bus crash that severely injured John and ended the tenure of Allen Blickle and Matt Maggioni with the band.

Theirs was one of the last gigs that I visited pre-covid, and it was fantastic. I would love to hear some of that captured on vinyl.

If the Ace Frehley release wasn't a picture disc, I'd probably snag a copy.

  17. He was still in the band. Also, DBT have never played an Isbell song since he left the band.

He didn't leave the band. He was kicked out for being a drunk. There is a difference.

Why is the stones record only 900 copies? If people want them and will buy them, why not press more for more money and more happy customers?

People want them because it’s limited.

True, but if it's a well mastered and pressed album just mass release it. Do a color variant for RSD. Reminds me of the Pink Floyd mono releases. They sounded great but limited. Why? There was a demand.

  23. Only confirmed by Jason and Patterson within the past few years. I am well aware of the history of the band as I've seen them live over 50 times. I didn't feel the need to go into details about Isbell's departure and his substance abuse issues.

I’m looking at the two Lou Reed albums, DBT, Uncle Tupelo, Nick Cave and Gilmour. It’s gonna be expensive!

Completely agree. I too have several Real Gone releases and they are great.
