The most celebrated group of the 1970s and culturally the most influential. People will still listen to their music long after Beethoven and Mozart have been forgotten.

    Did I ever mention:
My love of "Wacky Packages" & "Hardware Wars", plus knowing Python & SNL pretty much 'primed' me for "All You Need Is Cash" & the album, which I bought immediately after watching the show, when it first aired!
    Loved it ever since, AND....
though it took a few years later, I found "Meet The Residents" and Zappa's "We're Only In It For The Money", and bought them for the same reasons...
    LONG LIVE PARODY!

He was very active from the Bonzos up until the early 80's. All those albums are worth checking out. Not to mention, his television show The Innes Book of Records, other film work, and he even directed a video for George (Blow Away, I think). He's out on the road at this moment.

    So weird this comes up.

My 7 year old daughter just discovered them on YouTube an hour ago. She has been watching the movie and loving it.

    Weird timing.

No kidding, I absolutely adore Neil Innes's work. it is by far the best musical work for a parody I have ever seen. some of it is Lennon McCartney tier

I have always thought in the back of my mind there'll be nothing to explain, time goes by, as we all know - hour after hour - in this day and age, something tells me loud and clear there's nothing to it. Yesterday has gone, maybe a week or a year, looking back with 20-20 hindsight , just another piece of modern art.

Maybe it's just the shared reference to the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea but that sounds increasingly like later solo George as it goes on.
At first it sound weirdly like if Oasis tried to imitate the old/new sound of Free Of A Bird & Real Love but accidentally copied Sowing The Seeds Of Love instead. That last line hurts
