What would be the best move? Sell individually or the whole as a lot. Most of the Beatles are 7 1/2, a few 3 3/4. A few solo fabs and 60’s and 70’s rock. I have close to 100 or more. Some artists are: David Crosby, Steppenwolf, Byrds, Jim Croce, Carole King, James Taylor, Rolling Stones and so on. As said before, most 7 1/2 ips. All pre recorded factory releases. Any opinions would be appreciated.

That's entirely up to you. You could make more money selling individually depending on market desire for certain titles but you'd have to do the leg work to determine this on your own. If you sell as a complete one time deal expect to get much less for a bulk sale.

Sell them individually. I'd steer away from Ebay, that's just me. Try selling them here on the forum.

I was thinking eBay, but it’s been a long time since I’ve used them. Just seems like the buyer has all the rights and the seller gets the shaft. Maybe the forums, but I need to update my PayPal and learn the ins and outs of it.

Ebay gives you a wider net obviously but you could do very well here too. Definitely get paypal, it is worth it.

Try here listing individual titles. Make sure you update your PayPal.

Take good cell phone pictures of each box front and back + spines, or four of them at a time. You want pictures to show them off especially if the condition is really nice on the boxes. If you can set the camera to do square pics then it is perfect. Because VG+ and Ex condition do not really explain how nice an item can be that is not Mint or Near Mint. Daylight in the shade on a back patio or driveway on a table with a clean white covering is good.

You could look up R2R completed items on ebay and see which ones were the hottest titles sold, and which ones did not sell, or sold for only $10 or less. Unless you already know what you want for each one.

I’ve sold a few this year on discogs. The fees are less than eBay, but i listed them on both (buy it now on the bay) then killed the other listing when it sold. Most big titles have reel listings on discogs, but the suggested prices are sometimes not accurate like the lp listings since they don’t trade hands on that site too much. So use both sites to get an idea of what the current going rate is per title.

    Cheers,
    Jake

Fees are zero here. I know not the views of Amazon or eBay. But give it a try.

It really depends on the artist, the speed of the tape and the quality of the box and tape.

In general, 7 1/2 ips tapes are much more desirable than 3 3/4" ips tapes. Often times, albums were released in both speeds.

Our local record store sells RTRs, and generally sells them for $15-50 each. But some artists fetch more.

First list individual titles here. What you can't sell here list on Ebay. Then take the titles that don't sell individually on Ebay and relist them on Ebay as a lot.

It is all about how much leg work you are willing to put in. The more work the more money you will get but it has to be worth the time
