Not every one of these may be a "series" in the strictest sense, but I certainly think they're all worth the money on DVD: :righton:

The Muppet Show (we still need Seasons 4 and 5 :waiting:)

Max Headroom - The Complete Series (this at least says it's a "series" even if it only lasted one season)

Star Trek: The Complete Original Series (get the edition pictured below if you want it "unremastered")

Monty Python's Flying Circus (though Region 2 only, I believe "The Complete Box Set" pictured below is the best version currently available)

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (I enjoyed this clunky BBC production way more than the film, and on DVD you can actually read the graphics)

So do many other releases of series that lasted only one season-- one I've really liked on DVD is a short-lived 1977 ABC sci-fi/police hybrid called Future Cop (release is from Mill Creek); that series starred, among others, the late, great Ernest Borgnine as Officer Joe Cleaver, and Michael Shannon as the titular android cop, Officer John Haven.

The Complete Fawlty Towers was released in the US on DVD twice...is there any difference between the 2? I read that the 2nd release has edits?

Has nobody mentioned MASH? Magnum PI is great, too. If you have little girls, Little House on the Prairie is worth it.

Since no one else has mentioned it, how about The Saint (four B&W seasons, two color) starring Roger Moore.

Probably my favorite TV series ever, and it's held up remarkably well over the years. Grab the DVDs, we'll never see it on Blu-ray.

I thought about including I Spy, which was a great show, but Bill Cosby isn't very popular these days.

It's DVD so it's lacking...BUT, it's the only thing out there and IMO not worth the price currently; $76.99 at Amazon ...BD pricing on DVD...Shout sucks...

I often feel like Saxondale. I even have my own painful "Led Zeppelin moment" in my career (although mine is actually a Bob Dylan moment).

Agreed 100% on Freaks and Geeks.

I consider it an 18 hour movie since there was only 1 season.

It and Sports Night are the only 2 series I own on DVD.

30 Rocks and 2 seasons of Kimmy Schmidt for my Tina Fey fix. Hope seasons 3/4 of KS get a physical release.

Region-free German complete series blu-ray has been out for 6 years.

I own it ("Green Acres" complete series) and am quite satisfied with it... I think the picture/sound is very good... Then again, I'm not a video-phile, so I'm pretty happy with any clear picture with decent sound...

Agreed on both series... I only own season one of "Wanted: Dead or Alive", so I need to pick up the other two... "Have Gun, Will Travel", I own seasons one thru three, and season six, so I still need to pick up four and five...

"Gunsmoke" is another one I'm collecting on DVD, and have all released seasons so far and will pick up the next release when it's released in February...
