First of all, I like all of the Go-Gos and all of the Bangles (but especially Michael Steele).

Danielle Dax is the equal of anyone mentioned so far.

I always thought Stacey Q was cute. And cute = sexy!

Shirley Manson was around too, in Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie.

Let's not forget Irene Cara. If she was mentioned already, my apologies, but I have only been looking at the pictures.

 

It was a brief stint, though there is a bit more to the story. She was the band's first bassist/lead vocalist, doing some gigs and recording a demo tape later released as Born To Be Bad. Though there are conflicting stories on why she left the band after four months, what happened is that she got kicked out due to refusing to have sex with Kim Fowley, who then told her that she didn't have the 'megalo' to be a success. The other part most people don't know is that she played in about 15 other bands between the Runaways and the Bangles, including a stint with Snakefinger before he formed the Vestal Virgins. She's a good pick for the thread, and also a very talented musician and cool person.



Also, I have to second whoever mentioned Chrissie Hynde, who in the early 80s had that rare combination of hotness and coolness. I think the Talk of the Town clip shows it pretty nicely. (The clip looks like its been taken down from YouTube, but still....) Then again, I think Michael and Chrissie might object to a thread that's based on looks and generally defines women musicians as sex objects.

And while I'm being controversial, I'm not trying to threadcrap, but I never got what makes Susanna Hoffs so attractive. Seeing she's been the most mentioned woman in this thread by a mile, there must be something people here dig. What is it? Maybe doe eyes aren't my thing...

 

Well, I started to date my first wife because she was a Susanna Hoffs look-alike so tastes certainly differ.I love Michael and she is sure a contender but she never seemed to me like a feminist figure afraid to show her sexuality. Her 80's image is classic red-haired vixen if there ever was one. And that doesn't diminish her talent (the same about Susanna by the way - I would never talk about her in 2009 if she wasn't so damn talented!). I would love to hear more from Michael solo - her version of Banks of the Nile was mindblowing. Unfortunately visualy Michael didn't age as well as Hoffs IMHO - she doesn't look too good in any recent vids or photos while Susanna still looks gorgeous - and she turned 50 in january!
