Sgt. Pepper's 50th Anniversary Edition Price and Shipping Thread

I eventually shelled out for the box set. £62. Off e-bay. Some slight damage to one corner that I mended with a little black tape. Doesn't worry me. Nothing stays pristine in life and I thought £62 was a good price for what is otherwise a new set.

 

Amazon packed it really well. It was wrapped in cardboard that extended slightly beyond the edge inside the standard Amazon box,

 

Mine has some wear and tear as well.

 

I just checked a few sites and Discogs(did not look at Ebay though), and seems like the Amazon Price is still the lowest option if you want a New Copy. However, as I mentioned a few Posts above, check on Amazon closer to November/December near the Holidays, as almost every day brings a nice discount on items like Box Sets. I am surprised this Box Set has not come down in price yet, as I get the feeling a lot copies were made and there is overstock, but who knows?

Amazon did package my Box Set well, but YMMV with Amazon and their packaging as sometimes CDs I buy from them come Bubble Envelopes but no extra padding like I do when selling CDs on here. But, Amazon seems to package bigger items better.

 

I ordered the 2-CD set, and was sent the big box instead! Total price: $20!

 

Amazon posted my Who's My Generation Super Deluxe from Italy to Canada in a plastic (non-padded envelope), there is a ding in the corner, but it was a really cheap deal so I didn't contest it, but what were they thinking??

It wasn't the trousers either. I hit "buy it again" to see what would happen. Got sent the 2-CD version, but it was cool.

 

I was referring to Amazon-US, but I did buy the David Gilmour Live in Pompeii Vinyl Box from Amazon-Italy due to the lower Price and it arrived in Perfect Condition. Seems like in some cases though, Amazon treats their packaging like they treat their Employees(in the US), based on a recent Major News Story I saw on TV(ABC or NBC).

 

Amazon was selling Warehouse copies (mild or limited damage from returns) fairly often for under $80 much of the year. If multiple sellers still have the item in-stock, that usually means there is still a sizable amount of inventory left that will need to be moved by December.

I'd probably keep an eye on it around November.

To follow up on my previous post... I just checked Discogs. Yep, the 2LP was pressed again in 2019 The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

 

Um....that is the 1LP version.

 

I ordered from HMV for £29.99 last month, and can confirm that it's definitely the 2LP version that they're posting, now offered for £27.99.

 

Bargain at that price.
