Always wondering if people are still buying compact disc in the current era, starting a poll here at SHF.
Trying to keep it simple, so the question is limited to this year, 2020.
    1. For the purpose of the poll, you have either purchased a music cd in the year 2020, or you haven't.
    2. This only pertains to buying cd for personal listening ( for either yourself or as a gift) not any compact disc traders or wholesalers.
    3. For counting compact discs, if you purchased one(1)boxset and it contained six(6) discs, then please use six(6) as the number to consider how many cd's you purchased.
    4. If you purchased a hybrid SACD/ CD, then it counts as purchasing a CD.
    5. If you purchased an LP which came with a CD included, then it counts as purchasing a CD.
    6. If you don't listen to cd's or don't have any cd's, yet you purchased a cd and gave to someone else, then it counts as purchasing a CD.
    7. If you pre-ordered any cd, which has yet to be released and your order is still pending/active, then it counts as purchasing a CD.
    8. If you purchased any CD, then returned it for any reason, then it counts as purchasing a CD.
    9. If you did not purchase any cd's or recieved one or more as a gift, then you did not purchase a CD. Please select "no" in the poll.
    10. Also, it doesn't matter from where you purchased the cd, nor from whom, new or used.
The guidelines are hopefully clear. But, this being SHF...

Please feel free to post in thread to explain your response or lack of response or feelings about your selections not being represented. ;)

Does used vs. new matter? I've bought several used but none new. I guess this could be answered by rule #1 but if I was doing this type of poll I think I'd be asking about new purchases only.

I chose the 11-50 option, but in reality I've bought 110 CD's from Amazon this year, let alone Ebay and discogs.........

I had put all my CD purchases on hold back in March, but with the current events not going away soon, I started purchasing new CDs again last month. So, adding Jan. and Feb. purchases, I'm well over 50 for the year 2020.

Am I the only one concerned with catching covid through the mail buying used cd’s?

11 to 100 bought, mostly used. I am slowing down from last year. Used CDs are cleaned and case parts replaced if needed, and all go into individual mylar bags.

Well, I bought more than 50 just in January, all used! Had to vote for 11-50. Slowed right down during lockdown as only buying from eBay now as haven't been able to visit charity shops. Perhaps it's just as well...

I have bought a couple boxed sets recently, one from Florida. Every time I open a package I think “what if this is how I catch it.” Awful to feel so paranoid..... but I do.

Most of my purchases this year have been from Bandcamp, HDTracks, etc. so I think only 1 or 2 CDs so far - COVID-19 really put a wrench in my CD buying

Chose 11-50, pretty sure it's been at least a dozen since January - possibly a bit more but not 40 to 50.

    Unless I'm just deluding myself

I average 11-15 CD purchases a month. Having some well earned disposable income has some nice perks.
