    Cindy Bullens - Jellico Highway

Singer-songwriter who is best known as a backup vocalist on tours and albums for Elton John and Rod Stewart.
She also provided backing vocals for Gene Clark's phantastic 1974 album "No Other", and performed on the "Grease" soundtrack in 1978.

"Jellico Highway" is a track from her 2005 album "Dream #29", released on her own Blue Lobster Records.

    "Somewhere on the Jellico Highway
It hit me so hard I could cry
    I told you I didn't love you
God knows I was tellin' a lie
    Somewhere on the Jellico Highway
    I realized that I said good-bye"

So Long Bannatyne ~ The Guess Who (1971)

Little trivia note: The building that is pictured on the cover of "So Long Bannatyne" (543 Bannatyne Avenue, Winnipeg) was lost to fire in 2015.

...and Chevrier Blvd also mentioned in the song is closer to where I live now.

Woody Guthrie - Will Rogers Highway

Woody Guthrie's song on Route 66.
Woody mistakenly writes that Route 66 stretched "from the coast to coast, from New York town down to Los Angeles".

Recorded in 1940 by Alan Lomax, and released as "Library of Congress Recordings" on Elektra in 1964.

"That 66 highway, the Will Rogers road,
It's lined with jalopies as far as you can see
With a mighty hot motor and a heavy old load
From New York town down to Los Angeles"
