I remember participating in a thread once on a Tori forum discussing whether "burns his CDs" was literal (set them aflame) or technical (burned a copy). The song came out in 1994. I believe we settled on the literal interpretation.

Well you bested my Ice-T by one year. I was going to title this thread What is the Earliest reference to CDs in a song lyric? but I wanted to see a variety of examples.
Still wondering what the first night be though...

I love Tom's song because he's all bent out of shape about her boyfriend's CD and VCR! So long ago.
