supposedly John Peel injured himself playing it on the session. Youtube doesn't really represent Harvey Matusow's Jew's Harp Band from 1969 on Head Records but it's a humdinger.

You beat me to it! A great band, and great album - still have it, grooves wrecked by cheap record player, worn styli, and many plays.

The jew's harp is used on several songs on Leonard Cohen's second album, Songs From A Room. In fact, many people were overly critical of the fact that the jew's harp played such a prominent role on this album. It's almost impossible to miss that twang-twang throughout the entire album and even I believe at times it becomes overwhelming. It's an interesting instrument, but one that should be used sparingly, in my opinion...or at least mixed to be complimentary to other instruments instead of prominently.

A Jews Harp is where the main line from Tennessee Jed by the Grateful Dead come from....Robert Hunter heard someone playing the main line melody on one, and he used it to write the song.
