A while back we head a thread about songs with a Bo Diddley beat; now how's about naming songs with that inimitable A-D-Em-D chord progression?

"Louie, Louie" - Kingsmen (and others)
    "Wild Thing" - Troggs
    "Guantanamera" - Sandpipers
    "La Bamba" - Richie Valens
"Twist And Shout" - Isley Brothers
    "Hang On Sloopy" - McCoys
"Get Off Of My Cloud" - Rolling Stones
"You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" - Righteous Brothers

    Others?

Have Love Will Travel - - Richard Berry ... not too surprising since he wrote "Louie Louie".

What are the initial chords to Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit"?

"Beg Borrow & Steal" - The Rare Breed, as readily found on the Nuggets box set.

Not just the same progression, but the exact same riff

I'll have to look it up, but there was a book written a few years ago about the phenomenon of "Louie, Louie" and listed all of the popular songs that are "based" on that rhythm.

Ron, if I play Smells Like Teen Spirit, the chords are F, A sharp, G sharp, C sharp. Nothing like Louie, Louie (except that both are extremely simple).

Frank Zappa's Plastic People is basically Louie Louie with different lyrics, but that's on purpose. In fact, he was a little obsessed with the song himself.

Thanks. I was thinking maybe the initial salvo might be those chords, but obviously not!
