I bought an old HH Scott LK-72 integrated amp. My friend is a woodworker and she's going to build a nice walnut case for it. I'm wondering where I could source one of those ceramic coated metal grills to go above the tubes and transformers? Also some good isolation/anti-vibration feet.

All you need is a steel mesh panel of some type. Several patterns should be easy enough to find. You just cut out the size you need with tin snips and slide it into the grooves cut into the case. Way easier, and probably cheaper, better to just buy a vintage box with vent.

Find a local Hot Rod shop. Lots of good stuff to choose from. I like the Chromed Mesh / Screen look, myself.

I would talk to a local metal fabrication shop.

Thanks! There is actually a classic car shop down the street from me. I should probably ask my Dad too, since he used to build hot rods.

Just in case (no pun intended) you're looking for some design ideas: HH Scott - Audio Cabinets
