20 years ago today, the United States declared war on Canada, and I was in the old Lyons Avenue Cinemas in Spokane, Washington, laughing my behind* off.

Happy 20th birthday to South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut — probably THE best theatrical adaptation of a television show. (Better luck next time, Sex and the City 2.)

*I have to say “behind” because I get shocked if I say “ass.” OW!

Still the best thing the South Park team ever did. And as funny and pertinent today as it ever was.

Have you seen The Book of Mormon? It’s at least as good as the South Park movie.

Yes, I’ve seen it twice, and you’re right. I originally typed “Parker and Stone” and then I thought, no, remember Book of Mormon, so changed it to “South Park Team” :D

I loved it when it came out. Incredibly funny. One of the first DVDs I bought (and those where really pricey back then). Bought the soundtrack as well and played the hell out of it.

This might be a good occasion to watch it again.

One of the best movie theater experiences of my life. The packed 400-people room was in stitches the entire time including me. Laughed so hard, I thought I was going to pull something. Only at the end did I realize it was Canada Day that it premiered on.

I love them both. I'd probably put the South Park movie a bit above Team America, but they're both great.

Some of the hardest laugh's I have had at the movie theater. I couldn't breathe during the first Uncle @#$&er song. I had to keep looking away from the screen for air.

Love this movie! The only time I’ve laughed harder in a cinema was for ‘Team America: World Police”

I must watch it again soon :)

.....It was also the last Laserdisc I bought :0

Robin Williams performed it at the Academy Awards because Mary Kay Bergman, who did all the female voices in the movie and the first few seasons of South Park, had since died.
