Maybe the new project Steve is working on is taking over AF?

 

I'd hope something along those lines has been or is being contemplated, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm sure folks here aren't exactly jumping for joy at the prospect of this ambitious, half completed project being in limbo. The first four Spirit albums ...combined with singles... comprise the group's essential work.

Without any statements from the principles at AF or directly from Steve we're left to speculate about "worse case scenarios" for completing this and future SACD projects.

What was the significance of catalog number 520? It was used twice and is out of sequence.

 

Is Spirit Clear SACD from Audio Fidelity coming or is it canceled? Amazon says tomorrow it's shipping what is really going on?

 

My updated amazon order for the 3rd or 4th time says, arriving April 11 - April 13 so we shall see.

 

It’s showing ships in 9 to 11 days?

 

I admire your optimism, but It's still not listed on the Audio Fidelity site: https://audiofidelity.net/product/spirit-clear and a woman at Audio Fidelity told me last week that it is "on hold" and that she can't say more about it.

 

I hope somehow that it finally make it out. Poor @old school really wants this release. I’d enjoy it to. Let’s be happy we wound up with two of the four if that’s all she wrote.

Well, that's not what I wanted to hear.

 

Club members usually get an invoice charging their credit card (indicating shipping is imminent) well before Amazon gets the discs. As in at least ~10-14 days before.

I haven’t gotten an invoice. So I wouldn’t hold my breath on April 11-13. Or anytime soon.

I think Kevin Gray mastered this title, so I doubt Steve would know.

Correct. If AF isn’t saying anything, neither can Steve or Kevin (if they even know).

Honestly I’ll never understand why folks get so crazy about release dates slipping for re-issue labels. It’s news when a release date is met - not when they slip.

It’ll happen when it happens. In the meantime, relax and buy something else or listen to what you have...

 

Maybe it's some crazy legal issue with that particular title. Kinda like when anyone tries to dust off the Moby Grape catalog and their former manager goes bezerk.

 

The Quincy Jones title is in the same limbo though. Could be a coincidence. Or it might not.

 

Never heard of any legal issue with Clear. It's been reissued a few times.
