A rather bristly review of Monday's Birmingham show - Spiritualized, Symphony Hall, Birmingham review - a curate's egg of a show from Jason Pierce's space rockers
you get the feeling the reviewer would have been happier at a u2 or justin beeber show! can't really imagine jason in spandex running out and shouting 'good evening (checks name of city) birmingham, ar eyou ready to rock! here's one you'll love from back when!' (star jumps and slams his flying V)
Looking at another recent review by the same writer (Goldfrapp also at the Symphony Hall, back in April) it's clear that band/audience interaction is a big thing for him as he takes Alison Goldfrapp to task saying "...there was plenty of fan worship from a full house, even if there wasn’t a great deal of onstage banter beyond a “How are you doing? It’s good to see you after so long.”
i suppose he only has a small amount of time to fill with the extended versions. must be hard for him to create a setlist
Much more positive review of the Brighton show - ‘Everything Was Beautiful’ at Spiritualized Brighton concert

there is a link on the spiritualized website for the Birmingham show but i can't download it. can anyone else? 653.87 MB file on MEGA

Nottingham last night was awesome-oh. had doubts and anxieties but they were blown out the water. great great night. Sound issue in the A Song of all the tunes but the rest was amazing. loved it all.
Looking forward to the Roundhouse this evening (now I’ve actually been sent my e-ticket…) last time I saw them was the acoustic show in 2019 so will be good to see the full band (with added loudness).
it's 4 songs, not 5, but probably the best interview i've read/heard with him. interesting questions and interesting answers
Saw them last night at the Roundhouse London, identical set list to Birmingham. They had six backing singers which really bolstered the sound. On record the drums are often buried beneath the wall of sound , so it was a pleasant reminder of how good a drummer Kevin Bales is. A superb night, roll on the next tour.
