I'd forgotten that the promo CD-R does not include the fireworks intro (it does have the single mix however).

I assume the 7" single has the fireworks intro as heard in the YouTube upload?

The great thing about this thread: it's actually good news for someone when their post is wrong!

Both versions are available on multiple CD compilations, some rare, others not so:

What's up with Bob Dylan's music being removed from Youtube?

Either way, it doesn’t really fit the OP’s criteria that you have to seek out the original 7” single in order to hear the music.

A better example for Dylan would be the B-side “Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground”, which has never been reissued in any format.

It's also on their Midlife compilation, but they wouldn't reissue it for years because they were annoyed that it flopped. They had a "If you didn't buy it then you're not getting it now" attitude about it. I was alright, I bought it.

Good one! I think it's on the Reel Music compilation album, but they've well and truly suppressed it now.

A really good video about it. All Parlogram's videos are very good.

Edit: It's not on Reel Music. A perfect example.

After releasing some tawdry schlock in the early '70s (Taos New Mexico, Shadow), R. Dean Taylor put out one of his best songs a couple of years later, called Walking in the Sun. So far as I know, it's not on a compilation. Good thing I have the 45 ...

The B-side to Toots & The Maytals last Jamaica Top 10 single, Papa D, was You Never Know. It's great but never showed up on an album.

No. "Spies Like Us" was added as a bonus track to the PRESS TO PLAY CD in 1993:

How about that? Looks to be a UK release. Thanks!

But the B-side of "The Harder They Come" remains elusive.

No, it's a US release on Little Steven's Wicked Cool label. Lots of other good stuff on it too.

Most of the Beatles singles weren't avail on LP until the 2012 "Mono Masters" boxset.

In the US they all were. The last to go was "I'm Down" which was on the 70s Rock & Roll Music compilation.

Elastica’s final single (and final release of anything, I think), “The B***h Don’t Work.” I don’t think it’s ever been reissued anywhere.

Is the original 7" of In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins available on CD. I'm aware he hated the mix and has excluded it from his own singles compilations. Is it on a V.A. comp CD?
