Star Trek and Quentin Tarantino

Is Tom Cruise going to play Charlie Manson in QT "1969/Hollywood film"
Leonardo Dicaprio is already involved?

 

I'm guessing Leo would be the star. Now, it's a good question as to whether Tarantino's film will be more about Manson, or about the cops looking for him.

 

Plot wise: Leo? I think he's the main star who had a cowboy tv show from the 1950s and is looking for a new project( another actor is supposed to playing his stunt double) Cruise would be playing CM, if not him Brad Pitt I would imagine, maybe Walton Goggins.

 

I haven't gone through the entire thread, but a few days ago someone posted this
on youtube, and it's hilarious. Think of it as though Quentin had done the original series....

I hope Tarantino's version of Star Trek will be made, as I'm sure it will be quite different from what we are used to. Any news about it?

 

I wouldn't be surprised if it's some kinda mirror or alternate universe story

 

It won't be made as Trek 4 has been canceled (see other thread).

 

I thought the two projects were unrelated. I don’t think that Pine and co. were attached to the Tarantino project. Trek 4 was canceled because the returns didn’t justify the bloated budgets. Perhaps the Tarantino project is a project with a smaller budget. Or maybe not. I don’t know.

Thought the 2019 “ 1969 Hollywood movie “ was his Pulp Fiction homage ?

Strange how QT acknowledges his 1994 film as his legacy film, hence name dropping it all the time now.

 

It will be interesting to see what Tarantino does with Star Trek, but what I would really like to see is a Batman film directed by him. The comics are quite violent anyway, so it would be a good match.

 

I've heard him express interest in directing a Bond film before.
