Strange Interjections in Songs

That's what it's always sounded like to me but I can't imagine I'm right. Cracked me up that you posted it!

 

I can't remember off hand which Bonzo Dog song, might have been Trouser Press, as the song is winding down someone shouts "Raw Meat!"

 

"Cats are on the upgrade" and "god is an overwhelming responsibility" . Jethro Tulls Thick as A Brick.

 

Ho ho ho Hee Hee hee hah hah hah (Walrus)

And that middle but if Susan by the Buckinghams...

 

Btw, "Mont...gomery's got the answer" is not conjecture--that's actually what he says. Even though I read it somewhere, it still took me a few close listens to pick up all the words, but they're there.

 

I always liked Strummer's lead-in to the guitar solo on Lovers Rock:

"Know what I mean???"
"No!"​

 

What about more songs that I can count atm where the singer shouts "Sookie!"

 

Not Now John -- "Oi, where's the f@cking bar, John?"

 

Always heard that as "Elmore James got nothin' on this finger....."

As in, the finger holding the bottleneck slide.

 

"Put it away, Mr guitar!"

That's the one. And we can't forget two other great interjections from that song:

Always thought it odd that Billy Joel yells "rock and roll" in Scenes from an Italian Restaurant. It's out of place within the context of the song.

 

I have a good one in one of my songs, I say before a solo "Put some mustard on it"

 

Ringo Starr's "$15 Draw" cracks me up when Ringo interjects during the guitar solo, faking unhip awkward corniness: "When you're hot, you're hot! Ehr... What is it now?... When you're hot, you're hot, yeah, that's it!"...

 

There is also "All right, Ringo!" in "It's Still Rock And Roll To Me," though that one may make more sense.

 

Get a load of this bunch... If you can isolate George Duke on the right channel, he is totallly flipping out on the other guys' solos...

"Good Gawd!"... "I love this!"... "I told you not to do this dawlin'!"... "My goodness!", etc...

...Captain Beefheart's "Chicken was never like this!" is a mystery to me to this day...
